Pure like a newborn flower
alone in the wild field
waiting to be touched
for the first time
in your sweet dreams.

This piece was made about three years ago or something like that when I started beading. I was completely new in this beading world. For the beginning I could not understand one single word because the beading ladies don't use common words to explain the stitches. I was devastated. After reading I think 1,000 times one day I got what they were talking about. I just started screaming in the house like a nut. I was really happy. :-)
So after my discover of the language I practiced all the time to improve my bead work. One day I read an article about a contest. I thought Why not? So I decided to participate in it. I bought all the materials I needed for my piece. I don't know why I choose white or cream beads instead of another color. No idea.
I didn't have enough time to send my piece to the contest. I was nervous because I just wanted to have my first experience with something new.
I took me hours and days to finish the necklace. My back was destroyed and my eyes were seeing double points all the time. But you know what, it didn't matter to me at all. I enjoyed and learned a lot during the process.
To bead is hard , you have to love to do this, otherwise could be a torture.
My piece didn't win the first place but it got to the finals. I was really happy! Imagine, it was my first contest ever and I was with the top of the tops. Cool! :-)
I don't care if I don't win a contest or something, for me the most important part is to participate and enjoy every single moment.

That was your first piece? It's fantastic! You're a brave woman to have leapt into such a massive project; no foolin' in the shallow end of the pool for you!
I think any craft or art becomes work if you don't love it...and never is, if you do!
"to bead or not to bead"... Gorgeous necklace Lolin!
This piece is lovely!
lovely bead work! i like the subtle variation in color.
Oh, you have SO much more patience than I do ;-) Beautiful work!
WOW! It's a winner in my book, but it is great that you were a finalist. This type of beading is more than I have patience to do! I wired some seed beads to a headband once and wanted to rip my hair out by the time it was done. When it sold I was happy to see it go!
You did a beautiful job! Be proud :)
Hi lolo, This IS a gorgeous piece of work! Great beginning. Thanks for your comments. Sinc, Sue
